Did you see us on Top Gear?

One of the largest projects I have completed to date was a cake for the TV program Top Gear. They requested a 4 ft by nearly 5ft, 4 tier fake wedding cake to use in their episode ‘Truckers’. It was a challenge due to its massive size and the quantities of icing involved were tremendous, but it was fun to do.

About Us

Terri Newman

I have been designing, making and decorating cakes for the past 14 years. I am self taught and love the fact that I still learn something new every day! My ideal cake to make is something that is completely personal to the person receiving it; I like to have as much information as possible about them so that I can create a design that features many elements of their life and personality to make their cake unique to them. I also like to create unusual cakes and take inspiration from everything around me.

I love a challenge and have often said that my only limit is my imagination and being a very creative person in other aspects of my life, such as writing children’s books, drawing and painting I find that the sky is often the limit.

Who made this all possible?

Erica & Vic

My interest in cake making and decorating was ignited by watching my mum Erica making the most intricate wedding and celebration cakes for family and friends as a hobby, she took lots of classes and studied the art of piping and making sugar flowers and I would help her with mixing colours and kneading copious quantities of icing, often aided by my Stepdad Vic as he was stronger than both of us and had lovely warm hands to soften it!

When my mum passed away 14 years ago, Vic gave me all of her cake making and decorating equipment and very slowly I started to teach myself how to use them and spent many hours trying to remember what I had seen her do. I started making simple cakes and have slowly, over the years increased my skills and knowledge to progress to making bigger, more challenging cakes.
